Because today was one of the coldest days of the winter and horseback riding was out of the question, two “barn buddies” and I had lunch at the new upscale restaurant “Willard’s”, which has taken up residence in part of the iconic Leader store in downtown Cambridge.
It was EXCELLENT.
“The Leader” holds many fond memories for me. I used to go stay with my Grandma and Grandpa Larson for a week on their farm just east of Bradford on CR17 in the summer when I was a kid. “Ma” would go to town once a week for groceries/supplies and that was the highlight of the week, to be able to go to The Leader and get presents for my two brothers and my cat. Lots of good memories.
Great food, ambience, wine, and excellent wait staff. Going back for sure. The “Wild Rice Ice Cream” was a surprising treat, and the “Devils on Horseback” were scrumptious!
